Finding Positivity in My Ups and Downs: How my days can look πŸ‘€ 🀍

Hey everyone! If your new to the blog: Gifted Girl Journey I’m Summer πŸ‘‹πŸ€ and I'm an autistic teen, looking to spread awareness. For todays blog I wanted to share.....

What a typical day looks like for me as an autistic girl. My life is a mix of challenges and wins, but one big thing that helps me is my routine. It keeps me grounded, but some days, my feelings can mess that up.

Most mornings are pretty predictable for me, which I actually like. I wake up at the same time, brush my teeth, skincare, check my plans for the day, ect. But there are mornings when I feel super anxious or overwhelmed, and sticking to my routine becomes really tough.

When I’m having a good day, it’s like I’m on a high! I get so much energy and can dive into my favorite hobbies or projects. Everything feels fun and exciting! Those days can be a bit overwhelming too, with all the sounds and colors bouncing around. But I love those bursts of creativity and connection to the world!

But then there are days where everything just shifts, and I feel all out of sorts. It’s kinda like one moment I’m flying high, and the next, I’m in this deep pit of sadness. It’s hard to explain but even small changes around me can lead to those feelings.

On my tough days, it feels like I’m carrying a heavy backpack filled with worries. Panic attacks might hit out of nowhere, making me feel trapped and lost. I often end up burned out, struggling to do even the simplest things. Those moments mess with my routine, leaving me confused and frustrated.

Being homeschooled has been a game-changer for me! I love that I can shape my routine to fit my needs. I can focus on things I enjoy or take breaks when I’m overwhelmed. But when those down days hit, even my planned schedule can feel pointless.

When everything feels heavy, I’ve learned a few tricks to cope. Mindfulness, journaling, and doing sensory-friendly activities help me chill out and regain my focus. It’s important for me to remember that feeling this way is okay, and both the good and bad days are part of my story.

I wanna hear from you! How do you keep your routine intact when things get rough? What coping strategies work for you? Sharing our experiences can really help create a supportive vibe among us.

In the end, I get that both the highs and lows make my life what it is. Figuring out how to enjoy the good days while managing the tough ones is all part of growing up. If you’re ever struggling, just know you’re not alone—we’re all navigating our unique paths.

Remember your worth,
