Hey lovely's! π
Right now, I feel quite lonely, and I wanted to talk about this because I know many of us experience similar feelings. As autistic individuals, we sometimes feel isolated, even when we really want to be around others. It’s one of those tough parts of autism that’s hard to discuss, but I think it’s important.
Sometimes, people ask why we don’t just go make friends, and honestly, it’s not that we don’t want to socialize—we really do! It’s just that socializing can feel like this huge, complicated puzzle. Navigating conversations and social cues can be overwhelming, and it sometimes feels like the effort isn’t worth it when you’re feeling so lonely. It’s okay to feel that way, and accepting those feelings is part of the journey.
That’s why I’m determined to explore the autistic community. I see how big and supportive it is, and I believe we can find friendship there. The online autistic community has shown me that we’re not alone in our feelings. There are so many amazing groups where we can share our experiences and support each other.
I want to encourage you all to look for these online groups too (please DM any groups you find!!). They can provide a sense of belonging that’s hard to find elsewhere. I have been sharing my journey on my instagram @the_modern_girl_with_a_gift, and I’d love for you to DM me about your experience. Let’s connect! Together, we can build something brilliant and supportive.
Remember, it’s completely okay to feel lonely at times. We all go through it, and it’s a normal part of life. Embrace your uniqueness and know that you are truly valued.
remember your worth,
Summer-Rose H xxx
